DECEMBER??

See how fast the year went??? I started planning this 4 months ago, and it feels like yesterday. Im still waiting for alot more family to sign up on here, or at least get me an email address so I can get updates to you. I would prefer only posting to one spot, but I know some of you are just not into putting your info on here. Just get me an updated email address. Today I heard from Lizzy,,,I just LOVE getting messages from you. I havent seen Liz in so long. I really hope she can come with her kiddles to the reunion. I stole this picture from her Facebook, always beware,,if I find a picture I like to steal them and use them :) Isnt she the cutest!!

Let me know if you are going to make it to the reunion, I know its still early for camping reservations, but if your not planning on camping, you may want to get your Lodge, or curry reservations, they are available up to a year.

Im sending this out with an update through the emails that I have, if you have an email address for someone that is not on the list ,PLEASE either forward the email, or send it to me.

"Attached is a photo of me, your uncle Bob, my dad, and Judy Goodchild George. this was taken in the summer of 2008. Our dad ( your Uncle Bob ) died on May 15, 2009. This was the last time I saw him alive. We all had such a nice visit with your parents there. Your Uncle Bob seemed so clear and healthy. It was a good final memory of him on that beautiful sunny day.
Hope all is well with your family. Again, thanks for all you do to keep our ever growing family connected.

This is why Im doing this whole thing with the family. Just getting an email from Nancy brightened my day. How lucky I am to be able to communicate with a special cousin. I thought this was funny..

HI Everyone,

I thought this was funny when I saw it, wouldnt it be neat to show up to your campsite with this all set up for you? I know I hate this part the most about camping, Thats why we have a trailer now.

After a couple days in Yosemite in the middle of the summer, it wont be all nice and white anymore :)

But a good idea , at least bringing up extra equipment if you have it , for those that dont , so you dont have to buy it. Make sure you print out the email I sent out with the checklist. Plan now. I guess Im just a planner. Cant help it. I just want this to go smooth.

Reunion Date

Ok,,I had to come up with a definite Date.

Since I had very little imput, This is what I decided..its set, no changing. So start making reservations other than camping..DONT wait till July, you wont find anything. Dont depend on someone else getting reservations for you ..You must get your own.

Camping reservation start in March. Ill send updates

I know I wasnt the only one that thought, AGAIN?? ,,this is the way we have to get together as a family? I hadnt seen many of you since the last Funeral . I dont want to meet like that again for a long time. Lets get together for a Happy occassion. My kids didnt even know who most of you were. I dont want that. I want them to know all of you . My happiest memories were of being together as a family. I had friends comment all the time, WOW,,you have a big family, because we use to get together more often. Always seemed to see one of you here or there. But Now its only for Memorials. I know Funerals are inevitable, but why do we wait till then. No matter how busy our lives are, we should take the time to be with family. Ill always have the good memories of JohnJohn..He always had a smile, a nice thing to say, and a playful heart. He will be missed for sure.

Dear Family.
I found some old slides last week, they were of our family. Grandads 80th birthday Party..Wow, we all look so young, and so much has changed since then. That was probably the last time so many of us were able to get together at one time. We had a reunion 8 years ago in Yosemite. Nothing since. That is so sad…

I am willing to plan a reunion, if your all interested in participating. We have a year. Next summer in Yosemite. How does that sound.? I’m going to start a blog on the internet for updates. The more imput the better. Probably the middle of July 2010. I will have to do more research on that. So we can take advantage of some of the things we were not able to last time ,,like rafting , Hiking to Half Dome for all of you that were planning it for 2009 and didn’t do it!!

The blog will be for those that are on the computer a lot, and Ill send out updates to those who aren’t. Ill be collecting addresses, email addresses. And EVERYONES imput. Camping, Lodge, Curry Cabins. If you are coming from out of state, you can fly into Fresno, rent a car.. Ill provide you with all that info if your interested. Some can bring extra camping gear for those that have to travel,,etc. I
Lets make this a success. All we have in the end , are our families. We all need to get reacquainted..
